The standard Cotter Pin for Lippert axle assemblies is the pieces that keeps everything together. The cotter pin should be replaced every time the hub is disassembled after use. The standard cotter pin is used on axles with a weight capacity up to 8,000 lbs.

When installing, bend both legs flat against the end of the spindle, and verify the pin is flat enough so it won't interfere with the grease zerk or dust cap. Reference the figure below showing the recommended orientation of the bent pin.
